Tom Jackson grew up near Atlanta, Georgia, the son of a commercial pilot and homemaker. His love for travel began as a youngster flying all over the world with his parents and three older sisters. Tom played college football at the University of Georgia, graduated in 1981 with a degree in business, and immediately began a successful career in sales throughout the southeast, later working in the mortgage banking business and then traveling the world once again in the European Auto Delivery industry. These experiences were tremendous preparation for his career as a real estate broker.

In the early 1980's, Tom's parents retired to beautiful Hilton Head island, South Carolina. Soon after, Tom was offered a real estate sales position with the Melrose Company in the initial development stages of the resorts on exclusive Daufuskie Island. Tom has spent almost twenty years specializing in properties on Daufuskie and the Hilton head area with over $200,000,000.00 in sales!

Foreseeing the coming boom in the historic town of Bluffton at the gateway to Hilton head, Tom and his wife, Tiphany, decided in 1994 to move their family from Hilton Head to the Mainland. They have been very pleased with their decision to build a home and raise their family in Bluffton. Over the past five years, the Mainland community has become the heart of the Lowcountry area. The carefully managed growth in the Lowcountry is the key to the preservation of its historic past and environment, and the enhanced quality of life for the residents of these communities.

Regarding the incredible growth in the area and the emergence of true community in the Lowcountry, Tom remarks, "tourists have always come to this area because of the natural beauty, the beaches, the golf and tennis, but now they are flocking here to live because of those things but also for the sale, friendly neighborhoods and the cultural, educational, and economic opportunities that just didn't exist here ten years ago. This is no longer just a place to retire, but also a wonderful place to raise your children - the Lowcountry is truly an ideal setting for any stage of life.
