Tantalizing Views For Buyers of Bloody Point Real Estate

From Bloody Point, the southernmost tip of Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, you’re treated to tantalizing views across the Atlantic to Tybee Island off Savannah, and Turtle Island Wildlife Management area at the confluence of New River and Mungen Creek.

Bloody Point, named for the site where, in 1715, avenging British settlers ambushed an Indian tribe following an attack on their settlement, is just a short ferry ride from Hilton Head, and actually closer to Savannah by water. The Bloody Point real estate area is comprised of 540 acres and is the third largest developed section among Daufuskie Island real estate, after Haig Point and Melrose.

The actual point is the place to be if a good wind is what you crave, and sailing has always been popular. A big attraction at Bloody Point for prospective buyers of Daufuskie Island real estate is the 18 hole, park-like golf course, which was originally designed as a private club to be walked. As no real estate borders the fairways, you’ll catch panoramic views through ancient forests to the water.

There are basically two neighborhoods at Bloody Point: one being Sandy Lane — a condominium development facing the beach — and the other is a cluster of large houses hugging the renourished southern portion of beach. This part of Daufuskie Island real estate is a good area for families, as residents can have the roads, paths and lanes virtually to themselves. Imagine your biggest decision of the day being whether to ride your bike, walk or jog to the ferry.

If all this good living and exercise finds you needing a relaxing massage, you can saunter over to a state-of-the-art spa just a couple minute’s walk from the point. It’s part of the Daufuskie Island Club and Resort and welcomes people from all over Daufuskie Island.

What to do about basic services and amenities if you decide to buy a homesite here? Fortunately there are several options. You can buy a membership in the Daufuskie Island Club and Resort and enjoy all their facilities, which includes use of the ferries, golf and much more, or some families purchase Daufuskie Island real estate and a membership at Haig Point, meaning you’re entitled to everything there. Bloody Point doesn’t have the density of housing that Haig Point does, but by no means do you feel isolated. Not being a gated community as Melrose and Haig Point are, there also aren’t the vehicle restrictions. //
